Coronavirus disease, also called as COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The outbreak of this virus around the world has been affecting everyone. Places all over the world have ordered lockdown to their airports, coastal ports, and other public transportations and implemented enhanced community quarantine, advised people to stay at home to prevent spreading the virus. Because of the lockdown, businesses are forced to close temporarily until further notice.
Food and beverage companies are also feeling the impact of this worldwide crisis. But since they are included among ‘essential services’ together with health care providers and police, they are not included from the business temporary closure and their workers. As people were asked to stay in rather than go out for meals, food businesses are finding ways to still do business by accepting orders online and deliver.
On the other hand, supermarket shelves are running out of stocks because people are panic buying that they would be forced to self-quarantine. Processors and retailers assure the public that there’s plenty of food available, as long as customers just buy what they need and don’t hoard, there will be no problems at all.
